Pascal Lorenz received his M.Sc. (1990) and Ph.D. (1994) from the University of Nancy, France. He is a professor at the University of Haute-Alsace, France, since 1995. He is the author/co-author of 3 books, 3 patents and 200 international publications in refereed journals and conferences. He was Technical Editor of the IEEE Communications Magazine Editorial Board (2000-2006), IEEE Networks Magazine since 2015, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology since 2017, Chair of IEEE ComSoc France (2014-2020), Financial chair of IEEE France (2017-2022), Chair of Vertical Issues in Communication Systems Technical Committee Cluster (2008-2009), Chair of the Communications Systems Integration and Modeling Technical Committee (2003-2009), Chair of the Communications Software Technical Committee (2008-2010) and Chair of the Technical Committee on Information Infrastructure and Networking (2016-2017). He has organized many conferences, chaired several technical sessions and gave tutorials at major international conferences.

Neil Gordon

Neil Gordon

Professor, University of Hull, UK.

Neil Gordon is a professor in Computer Science. He has research interests at the interface of mathematics with computer science, particularly in the areas of finite geometry and its applications and in formal approaches. He is also an advocate for the effective development and use of technology for teaching, especially in higher education, and has worked on a number of projects with the AdvanceHE. After a joint degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, he went on to complete a PhD in Applied Mathematics (Finite Geometry and Computer Algebra, with Applications). This was followed by work as a Research Assistant, initially on geometry and group theory, and later on solving differential equations and their applications in mathematical physics. He worked for some time as an Educational Technology Advisor, exploring and supporting the use of computer technology in teaching mathematics. In 2000, he began working as a lecturer in Computer Science. In that time he has been responsible for admissions, staff development, module leader on multiple modules and the programme leader for a variety of degree programmes. He was head of Computer Science from 2016 to 2018. He was the lead tutor for the Faculty of Science Foundation Year for several years, and has been the senior lead academic on a number of KTP projects for the faculty. More widely across campus, he is a regular chair or member of programme approval and review panels, of the Hull DARTE scheme to recognise and award AdvanceHE accredited fellowships, and has led working groups developing our approach to digital assessment, and to supporting and enhancing the work of external examiners. Neil is chair (2022 to present) of the British Computer Societies Ethics specialist group, and is a regular speaker on the topic of ethics and professionalism, sustainability and, more recently, the ethical implications of Generative AI.

Philip W. T. Pong

Philip W. T. Pong received a B.Eng. from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) with 1st class honours. Then he obtained a PhD in engineering at the University of Cambridge. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Magnetic Materials Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for three years. Currently he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). His research interest focuses on the fault detection, predictive maintenance, and anomaly detection of power grid. He is the Founding Director of the Green Technology Research and Training Laboratory, leading the research and education activities of offshore wind energy at NJIT. Philip Pong is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET), a Fellow of the Institute of Physics (FInstP), a Fellow of the Energy Institute (FEI), a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FIMMM), a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (FHKIE), a Fellow of the NANOSMAT Society (FNS), a chartered physicist (CPhys), a chartered engineer (CEng), a chartered energy engineer, a registered professional engineer (R.P.E. in Electrical, Electronics, Energy), and a Senior Member of IEEE (SMIEEE). He serves on the editorial boards for several IEEE and SCI journals.

Vishnu S. Pendyala

Vishnu S. Pendyala

Vishnu S. Pendyala, PhD is a faculty member in Applied Data Science and an Academic Senator with San Jose State University, current chair of the IEEE Computer Society Santa Clara Valley chapter, and IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Contributor. During his recent 3-year term as an ACM Distinguished speaker and before that as a researcher and industry expert, he gave numerous (50+) invited talks in conferences, faculty development programs, and other forums some of which are available on YouTube and IEEE.tv. He is a senior member of the IEEE and has over two decades of experience in the software industry in the Silicon Valley, USA. His book, "Veracity of Big Data," is available in several libraries, including those of MIT, Stanford, CMU, the US Congress and internationally. Two other books on machine learning and software development that he edited are also well-received and found place in the US Library of Congress and other reputed libraries. Dr. Pendyala taught a one-week course sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, under the GIAN program in 2017 to Computer Science faculty from all over the country and delivered the keynote in a similar program sponsored by AICTE, Government of India in 2022. Dr. Pendyala recently served on a US government's National Science Foundation (NSF) proposal review panel. He received the Ramanujan memorial gold medal and a shield for his college at the State Math Olympiad. He also played an active role in Computer Society of India and was the Program Secretary for its annual national convention. He served as an Area Governor with Toastmasters International and received the Distinguished Toastmaster, Area Governor of the Year, and Silver Scribe award.

Danilo Avola

Danilo Avola

Associate Professor, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy.

Danilo Avola earned his Ph.D. degree in Molecular and Ultrastructural Imaging from University of L'Aquila, L'Aquila, Italy, in 2014. Since 2021 he is Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science of Sapienza University of Rome, where he leads both the Robotics Vision and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (TITAN Lab) and the Computer Vison Laboratory (VisionLab). In addition, since 2018 he is R&D Senior Engineer at the W•SENSE s.r.l., a spin-off of Sapienza University of Rome, where he leads the Computer Vision Team (CVT), and since 2010 he provides consultation and collaboration to companies engaged in computer science, computer vision, and artificial intelligence research projects. Previously, he was postdoc researcher at the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics (DMIF), University of Udine, Udine, Italy, and R&D Senior Engineer at the Artificial Vision and Real-Time Systems Laboratory (AVIRES Lab) at the same University. Even before, he was R&D Senior Engineer and Supervisor, earlier, at the Multimodal & Multimedia Laboratory (M&M Lab) of the National Research Council, Rome, Italy, and, later, both at the Pictorial Computing Laboratory (PCL Lab) and at the Artificial Vision Laboratory (AV Lab) of Sapienza University of Rome. Among other awards and prizes, Danilo Avola received, in 2020, the Outstanding Paper Award for IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics (TII). Currently, he is Reviewer of top International Journals in Computer Vision, including Pattern Recognition, Pattern Recognition Letters, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems, and International Journal of Computer Vision; in addition, he is Associate Editor and Guest Editor of different ranked International Journals. His research interests include Computer Vision, Image/Video Processing, Human Computer Interaction, Wi-Fi Signal Processing, EGG Signal Processing, Machine/Deep Learning, Multimodal Systems, Pattern Recognition, Event/Action/Affect Recognition, Action, Scene Understanding, Body Language and Face Expression Interpretation, Robotics (UAVs, AUVs, ROVs, Humanoids), and has published around 100 papers on these topics. Since 2011, Danilo Avola is member of IAPR, CVPL, and IEEE.

Vladan Devedzic

Vladan Devedzic

Professor, University of Belgrade, Serbia.

Vladan Devedzic is a Professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Organizational Sciences, Belgrade, Serbia. He also used to teach several Computer Science courses at the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, as well as at the Military Academy of Serbia (ex Yugoslav Military Academy). Since 2021, he is a Corresponding Member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA). He is the founder and the Chair of the GOOD OLD AI research network. Vladan Devedzic has authored/co-authored numerous research papers, published in international and national journals and in edited books, or presented at international and national conferences, as well as six books on intelligent systems and software engineering. Vladan Devedzic is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Technology Enhanced Learning, and a member of Editorial Boards of three other international scientific journals: International Journal of Web based Communities, International Journal of Knowledge and Learning, and Electronics and Energetics. Vladan Devedzic has given 24 tutorials at international conferences, two in-house tutorials, and has participated as a presenter in a number of national and international seminars.

Michael Agyemang Adarkwah

Dr Michael Agyemang Adarkwah is a Research Associate at the Institute for Education and Culture, at the Chair of Adult Education, Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Germany. His habilitation is on the application and implication of learning technologies in adult education in this artificial intelligence (AI) era with a focus on challenges, policy, and best practices. He was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Smart Learning Institute, Beijing Normal University (BNU), China. He obtained his Ph.D. in Education Leadership and Management from Southwest University, China. He has a master’s degree in Educational Administration and Leadership and a bachelor of science degree in Nursing from Valley View University, Ghana. He worked as a Registered Nurse (RGN) in Ghana. He has given keynote speeches on Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education at the University of Portsmouth-Kaplan Symposium, the University of South Africa (UNISA), the University of Ghana, Philippine Normal University (The National Center for Teacher Education) and Mariano Marcos State University (Comparative Education and Students Critical Leadership Society). His research interests are teaching and learning, motivation, assessment, digitalization, computers and education, adult education, special education, online learning, and healthcare education. He has Edited three Springer books on Design in Education, Educational Robotics, and AI in Education (AIED). He is an International Peer Reviewer and serves on the editorial board of multiple journals. He served as a Guest Editor for the International Journal of Smart Technology and Learning. He is an Editor of the book series Assessment of Educational Technology (AET) at Routledge. He is an Associate Editor for SN Social Sciences, the Journal of Applied Learning and Teaching (JALT), and the Journal of University Teaching and Learning Practice (JUTLP).

Dr. Xiangjie Kong is currently a Full Professor in the College of Computer Science & Technology, Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT), China. Previously, he was an Associate Professor in School of Software, Dalian University of Technology (DUT), China, where he was the Head of the Department of Cyber Engineering. He is the Founding Director of City Science of Social Computing Lab (The CSSC Lab). He is/was on the Editorial Boards of 6 International journals. He has served as the General Co-Chair, Workshop Chair, Publicity Chair or Program Committee Member of over 30 conferences. Dr. Kong has authored/co-authored over 140 scientific papers in international journals and conferences. His research has been reported by Nature Index and other medias. He has been invited as Reviewers for numerous prestigious journals. Dr. Kong has authored/co-authored three books (in Chinese). He has contributed to the development of 14 copyrighted software systems and 20 filed patents. He is named in the2019 and 2020 world's top 2% of Scientists List published by Stanford University. Dr. Kong received IEEE Vehicular Technology Society 2020 Best Land Transportation Paper Award, and The Natural Science Fund of Zhejiang Province for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has been invited as Keynote Speaker at 2 international conferences, and delivered a number of Invited Talks at international conferences and many universities worldwide. His research interests include big data, network science, and computational social science. He is a Distinguished Member of CCF, a Senior Member of IEEE, a Full Member of Sigma Xi, and a Member of ACM.

Dr. Haibin Zhu is a Full Professor and the Coordinator of the Computer Science Program, the Founding Director of the Collaborative Systems Laboratory, a member of Arts and Science Executive Committee, Nipissing University, Canada. He is an affiliate professor of Concordia Univ. and an adjunct professor of Laurentian Univ., Canada. He received a BSc degree in computer engineering from the Institute of Engineering and Technology, China (1983), and MSc (1988) and PhD (1997) degrees in computer science from the National Univ. of Defense Tech. (NUDT), China. He has accomplished (published or in press) over 230+ research works including 40+ IEEE Transactions articles, six books, five book chapters, four journal issues, and four conference proceedings. He is a Fellow of I2CICC (International Institute of Cognitive Informatics and Cognitive Computing), Fellow of IEEE, Member of IEEE Computer Society, Senior Member of ACM, Full Member of Sigma Xi, and Life Member of CAST-USA (Chinese Association of Science and Technology, USA). Dr. M. A. Jabbar is a Professor and Head of the Department CSE(AI&ML), Vardhaman College of Engineering, Hyderabad, and Telangana, India. He obtained Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from JNTUH, Hyderabad, and Telangana, India. He has been teaching for more than 20 years. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Bio-Informatics, Cyber Security, Machine Learning, Attack Graphs, and Intrusion Detection Systems. He published more than 60 papers in various journals and conferences. He served as a technical committee member for more than 70 international conferences. He edited 7 books with various leading publishers like Elsevier, springer, and Taylor and Francis.
